Essential Question #2
Life can sometime be like a road that everyone take. T hen you have to do one things to see if your are going to continue on the same path or move to the a different path, that have different challenges that you have to face. The challenge might me as easy as saying one, two, three or it might be you have to sleep out in the forest by yourself for 5 days with only spear, your hand and the nature. Well the challenge that we all have as 6th grades are test and projects and more test. Most people overcome the challenge but not all. Now this writing is about a girl named Karana and how she overcomes her struggles alone on the island of the blue dolphin.
At the beginning of the book Karana has a brother that is name Ramo. Ramo and Karana lived on the Island for about 1 night until Ramo decides that he can be the men out of both of them and decides to take out a big heavy canoe. Now because Ramo was younger he forgot to think before doing and got himself killed by the wilded dogs. But Karana on the out hand decides to take the safe road and do what she knows what to do, until she felt comfortable to try something new. Karana toke it step by step and did things that would only for sure help her live.
During the book Karana feels lonely alone on the Island so she overcomes this challenge by taking one of the wild dogs that once belonged to the Aleut and was the leader of the pack of wild dog as a pet. Now Karana had other things that helped her overcome this challenge like when the Aleuts came back there was a girl that came and visited her, and had fun pointing at things and saying it’s name in there own language. Karana also had a challenge with Rontu because he died so she just found Rontu’s son and made him her pet. Karana was alone for a short period of the time, so Karana over came many different challenges.
Life is sometimes hard and you have to face many different challenges, that some complete and some don’t. Things that you do in life might bring you stress or maybe make you feel useless, but do as Karana did and take it one step at a time. But sometimes life brings you challenges that you just can’t do, or you think you can’t do. Just do what you can when it come to challenges and listen to your heart and all will be good.

Essential Question #3
Environments can be from being in a classroom to being out in the desert in Egypt. Environments can change a persons behavior 100% so if you thing that we can just go to Egypt and do five summatives in the hot desert you are crazy because I would rather do ten summatives in an are conditioned building. ( I am not expecting this many summatives because all my teachers are so mice.) The environment you are in can change the way you act and the way you do things. In this writing I am going to tell you about how I would act if I was in Karana’s place and how different Karana would act in a different environment.
First of all I am going to tell you how I would act if I were in Karana’s place. Well first let me give you a heads up I done not like things like fish and clam and I don’t make anythings except if I can make it out of Lego. I would have stayed calm until my brother died and then I would have freaked out and probably starve, because I hate fish. My home would have been up on a tree and I would not have a pet dog or pet birds. I would be able to maybe make a fire, but not really. I would have only been surviving on water and probably be dying of heat in the summer and be frozen from head to toe. Ah, it would probably be torture. Well you probably got the bottom line I would be dead before the men came to save me.
And here something to thing about, Karana surviving in a different environment. If Karana would have been ship racked onto a different Island and only she would have lived, then what do you think would have happened. Karana wouldn’t have a greater chance of living because the environment is all new and she would just have been lost looking for food. Karana wouldn’t have had the chance she did to survive if she did not know the Island as well as she knew the Island of the blue dolphin. Karana would have probably been lost and die because she couldn’t find her way back or maybe she couldn’t find what she was looking for, such as food or even water.
Karana was very lucky to be in an environment she new very well, and I am lucky I am not Karana. As you can see environments do change the way you do things if it is about weather or maybe even the lack of food or water. Life are lost because of these kinds of challenges, but some people are really lucky like Karana was. Some people have luck or maybe some people have wisdom and can’t wait to use it. You might have great knowledge but what can really change and throw you off is the way your environment is formed.
